A man, a woman and a 3-year-old girl were just sitting at the bus stop near Eastern and Owens Avenues when they were struck around noon Saturday by an SUV.

Police said the driver of the SUV fled the scene but was arrested later on suspicion of DUI. He was identified as 22-year-old Julio Enriquez of Las Vegas. He was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, hit and run, and driving without a driver’s license.

The child was in critical condition at University Medical Center. The man and the woman were found in serious condition.

Police have not yet disclosed the identities of the victims in the hit-and-run incident.

In related news, the driver who was killed in Friday’s single-vehicle accident in the southbound lanes of I-15 at Mile Marker 24, near the town of Sloan, has been identified by authorities as 42-year-old Douglas Hutchings of Las Vegas.

According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, Hutchings’ 2005 Pontiac veered to the right off the roadway onto the shoulder where it continued down an embankment, then rotated counterclockwise and overturned. Hutchings was ejected from the vehicle and was found dead at the scene.

In still related news, a single-engine plane crashed shortly after takeoff late Saturday from the South Lake Tahoe airport killing and injuring possibly several people.

The aircraft, registered to Francisco J. Delamora, burst into flames upon impact and started a one-acre fire that took more than 90 minutes to put out. Investigation is still continuing at this time and identities of the victims have not yet been made public.
