Vehicle Hits Elderly Man Who Was Watering His Lawn

An elderly man who was just watering the lawn at his home near Camino Eldorado and Centennial Parkway last Sunday was taken to the hospital in critical condition after being hit by a motor vehicle.

According to accounts from the North Las Vegas Police Department, the 17-year-old still unnamed male teenager who was driving the vehicle was trying to make a turn but lost control and went up into the victim’s lawn before hitting the 65-year-old also still unnamed elderly person.

Several roads around the crash scene were closed while the investigation was being conducted. Police do not suspect that alcohol or drugs came into play in the accident.

In related news, also on that Sunday, a car crashed into a fuse cabinet at Spencer Street and Pebble Road, near Maryland Parkway, causing a power outage that impacted hundreds of NV Energy customers.

NV Energy says it will take several hours before it could restore power back.

Still on that Sunday, an SUV crashed into an apartment complex wall on the 3000 block of South Decatur Boulevard.

After crashing into the wall, the SUV went from one apartment unit into another. It also hit and damaged at least one parked car.

The driver of the SUV fled after the accident and is being tracked down by the police. The SUV itself was found two blocks away from the crash scene at a shopping center at Decatur and Desert Inn Road.
